Treatment of dry eye varies and is dependent on the severity of the condition. The overall objective is to relieve any discomfort, keep the eye moisturized and make sure the eye is healthy.
Your eye doctor may advise you to use an over the counter (artificial tears) eye drop solution. Depending on the severity of your dry eye, they could also prescribe an eye drop solution to use in conjunction with the over the counter drops or as a replacement to that solution.
