Vision & Medical Insurance Made Clear

We accept many major vision and medical insurance plans to support both routine and medical eye care. Whether you’re scheduling a routine eye exam in Blaine, MN, or visiting for ongoing treatment, our team helps you understand how your benefits apply.

Because vision and medical coverage are billed differently, we review your benefits before your appointment whenever possible. Our goal is to make your visit straightforward and free from surprises.

Vision Insurance

Vision insurance is typically used for routine care and prescription updates. If you’re coming in for a standard visit, your appointment may be billed through your vision plan.

Vision insurance may apply to services such as:

  • Comprehensive eye exams

  • Children’s eye exams

  • Updating your glasses or contact lens prescription

  • Eyeglasses and sunglasses

  • Contact lens fittings

If you’re unsure whether your visit qualifies as routine vision care, call our office before your appointment, and we’ll review your benefits with you.

Medical Insurance

Medical insurance is used when your visit involves diagnosing, treating, or monitoring an eye health condition. These visits are considered medical rather than routine.

Medical insurance may apply to services such as:

  • Dry eye treatment and ocular surface evaluations

  • Eye disease management, including glaucoma and macular degeneration

  • Diabetic eye exams and monitoring

  • Evaluation of eye infections or injuries

  • LASIK and cataract surgery co-management

If your visit involves medical symptoms or ongoing treatment, it will likely be billed through your medical insurance provider. Our Blaine eye care team will explain this clearly and verify your coverage whenever possible.
